Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire is a game that spans several genres. Gameplay is almost evenly split between spaceship battles and first-person shooter levels. You play Dash Rendar, a friend of Han Solo's. Taking place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, a villain named Xixor, the head of a criminal syndicate, hopes to take Darth Vader's place by killing Luke Skywalker. To save the rebellion, Dash must fight bounty hunters like Boba Fett and IG-88, The demo only has one level, but it's the best one: the awesome Battle of Hoth. Shadows of the Empire must be run in Windows 95 compatibility mode on Windows XP and newer. There are 10 levels in this game, with only the first level playable in the shareware version.
