Although the license in the zip file states that vendors must register to distribute the software, the following is listed in Option #1 in-game.
Users were encouraged to share the game with their friends and family (which shareware depends on). Since I'm not a software vendor, I believe that I'm abiding by the in-game license. This version of KEEN DREAMS has been made available to you through the SHAREWARE distribution syste. This unregistered copy which you are playing is free for you to pass along to your friends and associates.

Good to know that the files are still there. That post links to spatang.com, which redirects to dosclassics.com, where all of the download links have been replaced by PHP errors. I emailed xtraverse but he hasn't responded. The problem seems to be that the script is calling for a local file, so it's searching dosclassics.com for files that are on spatang.com.
At any rate, I was just going to get v1.13 from my usual source, but it happened to be down yesterday.

Mediocre. Looks like this was a quickie id put together in a hurry to get rid of their contract with Softdisk. Check out Dangerous Dave: Haunted Mansion for a slightly more well-rounded game using the same engine. (And it has a SHOTGUN too!)

I see you've got Keen 1, Keen 4 and Keen Dreams on this site. Why no Keen 6?

Re: Keen Dreams
It's on the Apogee FTP site, I think the archive is named "k6demo.zip". It's freely distributable.

Re: Keen Dreams
The version on Apogee's FTP is the "Special Demo Version (v1.0)". There was also a "Promotional Release Version (v1.0)".
The Special Demo Version doesn't include a license, which means that it doesn't forbid distribution. It wouldn't make any sense to ask people not to share the demo, since the shareware model depends on as many people sharing the game as possible.
Anyway, let's try to stay on topic here. There will be a thread for Keen 6 soon enough.
