I have never heard of this game, but the screenshots immediately evoked a nostalgic feeling - they're indeed very console-ish, and look somewhat like a portable console game played through an adapter on a TV console (I think there were such adapters that allowed GameBoy cartridges to be played on a NES).

The Super Game Boy allowed Game Boy games to be played on a SNES with a border around them. You're right, it does look a lot like that!
Today entirely the maniac there is no excuse with the article.

Considering the common systems then were between 4 and 16mhz, perhaps it was feasible to keep the gameplay in a small window.
