MISSING A GREAT GAME!!
This site is an excellent source for the good classics. But I couldn't help noticing one missing that should be on every DOS list. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is possibly the best action/adventure game DOS ever ran. Currently the game is avaliable threw a demo. That should be here along with the other greats. I also noticed you using signed petitions. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is practically unavailable anymore and it would make a great project to petition for freeware. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Please limit yourself to one thread per post. I deleted the other 5 identical posts and split this one into its own thread. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain was a Windows game and, therefor, will not be listed on this site. That shouldn't stop you from starting your own online petition. I don't know how much they actually help, though. Try writing a polite email to the copyright holder and ask if they would release it as freeware. The game is 9 years old, so they might be willing. Good luck.

Thanks
I appriciate the response, I only posted the others to grab attention.(I wasn't intentionally flooding. I was just frustrated from serveral days of fruitless searching for the game.) That's dissapointing to find out it wasn't ported for dos. Do you know of any sites that may carry it for windows?

applogies for the link to another site, but..
http://www.abandonia.com/games/en/371/B ... OfKain.htm
states that this is ESA protected and as such no legal copies are available. it also has some more infor on the game.

I don't mind external links as long as they don't link to anything illegal, defamatory, injurious or pornographic. Abandonia does have illegal downloads, but only for games that aren't copyrighted by ESA members. The ESA sends nasty legal warnings to websites that offer downloads of their members' games. Most "abandonware" sites operate on the principle that it's okay to break the law as long as no one tries to stop you.
For the record, Classic DOS Games does not declare a game "abandoned" merely because it has been discontinued. A copyright holder still holds the rights to a game unless they abandon those rights by releasing the game into the public domain. All games on this website that list as abandonware have been released into the public domain with no limitation of license (no terms, conditions or caveats), retaining no rights at all.
