GOG.com - Anyone checked this out yet?

Post by ThreeHeadedMonkey »

I just stumbled across this awesome service, called Good Old Games. They have a bunch of old DOS games available for immediate download for incredible prizes (5,99 and 9,99 - even some free ones), including a few Apogee titles (ROTT, Duke3D etc.). Check it out!

Oh, and the best thing: NO DRM! Yeah!

Yup. They bundle games with DOSBox so that they work on Windows XP and Vista. That's been done many times before (i.e. Sierra Quest compilations), but the prices are definitely reasonable.
Today entirely the maniac there is no excuse with the article.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to put up a link to their site on Classic DOS Games?

GOG just announced that they will start offering the Tex Murphy series of adventure games on their website! Woo-hoo! Man, I'm so excited about this! I used to LOVE these games! I still have Under A Killing Moon and Overseer laying around somewhere. I think I did away with the rest in a garage sale maybe. What a fool I was... Anyway, now I'll have another chance to play them again!

Check it out!

Yet another favorite of mine made it to the site. This time, it's the classic puzzle game The Incredible Machine (plus sequels). Ten bucks! What a great value.

Lol the T rating for GK1 is way off and doesn't mention the nudity their own promotrailer has. XD

Uh-oh.
GOG.com frontpage wrote:Dear GOG users,

We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We've debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we've decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form.

We're very grateful for all support we've received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming.

This doesn't mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We're closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.

On a technical note, this week we'll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.

All the best,
GOG.com Team
I wonder what this means.

edit: Nevermind, turns out it was all part of some PR stunt.
