I never personally visited HappyPuppy but I've been faced oh so many times with the problem that something I tried to download was hosted on their FTP. I guess they did at least host some of the files themselves?

are finally starting to function?
I have no idea how they suddenly improve their '95/96/97 captures but it's fascinating and makes me most happy.
When the new version of the web archive was launched, some sites had some more files added to their archives. There were some files that had been wrongly indexed previously that they fixed in the new version or something, can't remember the exact details.
Also the new version disregards differences in capitalization and also disregards if the site had been archived with the www. prefix or hadn't and puts them all under the same archive which makes some websites appear significantly more complete and easier to navigate (you don't have to try all the different combinations).
Only bad thing about the new version of the archive is that when you download files you can't get them with their original modify date anymore. Thankfully the
mirror still uses the old version so in the rare cases when you might want to get a file with its original modify date, you can use the mirror as a workaround.
