I'm just asking. Forget about their pointless benchmarks in this thread.
The thing is ATI doesn't crap out in performance with 8-bit palette alterations, however in some libraries (older SDL) it loses color precision, and on single core machines, the drivers will continually take priority to poll your keyboard causing large input delays (atiovxx).
nVidia does the opposite of the above.
Both choices have you compromising things.

That's a tough choice. I've used cards from both manufacturers for several years and have generally been satisfied by their performance. So I guess my stance is neutral.
