A Win9x update of the original game with some interesting new gameplay mechanics. Although the game itself isn't necessarily anything special, it has its charm and it's a definite improvement over the mediocre first game.

It was published by Gathering of Developers (aka GODGames) which I believe are now just 2K Games. Project 2 did publish The Secret Files however. This game mostly had publishing trouble - it was developed in 1995 and 96, had a OEM bundle release in 1997, then finally a shareware / retail release in 1998.

This game is very glitchy, you can get stuck on the springpads for example.

I got stuck on a valve about 10 seconds into my first game.

Shareware version 1.20 has Project Two during the intro, and does not have GOD, so they must have had something to do with Jazz Jackrabbit 2.

In initial shipping, the GOD release had mentioned a free bundled copy of the full Jazz Jackrabbit in but it's absent with a little notice slip.

I never liked the change of atmosphere in the sequel. The first game felt semi-serious contemporary, the second game is just overly cartoony.

Outstanding artwork and atmosphere, and party mode is a blast.

It's a shame that they didn't put more thought into the enemies. Most of them just run back and forth. The game is far too easy, even on hard mode.
