new to the site, anyway

I seem to remember a sidescrolling game where you are running away from a black cat or dog like creature. the graphics were good for the time, so I'm going to say around '94 to '96, the background i remember was blue-ish colored mountains and the black creature was perched on one of the mountain ledges. the playable character i think was in black pants and a light blue shirt. and i think you could could swing from black tar or vines. was it still a dos game? does anyone know the title? i am trying to prove my sanity

I loved this game! I think I still own it. I should look for it and play it again.
