That was a good one indeed! I've talked a lot with a friend about the aspect ratios (and the effect of CRT on graphics - love that Sonic 2 waterfall example at the end). Gotta put those tips to use.

It's a problem for this site, for sure. The author only talked about VGA, but we also have EGA's 640x350, which is a 64:35 ratio. Have fun with that one. Then you have Hercules' 720x348 (60:29).

very well thought concept.
always been a pain for me whenever I need to convert or resize images of any kind, and the thing that some old games I play seem to look like crap when I play them in emulators that try to emulate their vanilla graphic and behavior always affected on my experience of enjoying the game, 'cause I don't remember them looking so weak back when I used to play them in the 90's.

I never play them fullscreen, but I also never play them at small graphic size 'cause, well, myopia has to be a part of aging I guess. :p
that said, I wish I still had an old computer system with me to fiddle around with, even just to go back once more to the original experience.

Have you ever tried CRT imitation shaders in DOSBox?
