I'm thinking that maybe it would be reasonable to add the Shadow Warrior shareware version 3Dfx patch? The patch does not come with any shareware installation and must be applied to shareware v1.2. There are actually two versions of the patch available:
SWSW3DFX.EXE - Shadow Warrior Shareware 3Dfx patch.
SWSW3D11.EXE - Shadow Warrior Shareware 3Dfx patch v1.1.

[Edit] Oh, I just realized I've already mentioned those in another thread. But anyhow, the shareware version 1.2 with 3Dfx support is a different thing from a regular v1.2, so maybe it deserves to be added as such (I mean, the patch is)?

I'm not sure what position RGBCG is on for official game patches.

There's a freaking old Dominion: Storm over Gift 3 demo on this Secret Service 44A disc, dated January 1997

Cool, is it playable? I know of a trailer that is about 8Mb in size, and the 1.0 demo that can be found here:

I've downloaded that CD but the demos of either Dominion or Dark Colony are nowhere to be found. There's only a couple of early screenshots from both games, but that's pretty much it. Am I missing something?

It appears to be a non-playable "Cinematic demo" that just plays a Smacker file. Why it needs to be installed? LOL WHO KNOWS

I should mention a ton of demos on Secret Service are self-extracting repacks. Very few original installers are retained.

Yep, I've noticed that too, probably they did that to make demos easily installable via the menu shell.

I just realized that this demo is v1.0, while the one I was thinking about (and encountered before) is v1.1 (domdem11.exe). I don't know what the differences are yet, but both v1.1. and the unplayable demo cinematic of Dominion are available from Demu.org:
Dominion Playable Demo v1.1
Dominion Non-Playable Demo

Hallfiry explained me that there are indeed two different installers of the downloadable Starcraft shareware, released at different dates, but the demo files in both are version 1.01. I suppose that the installer was changed because of some company-related update (links or somesuch) that did not affect the files. I was a bit confused about the versions from Electron BBS since the accompanying file description said it was v1.0, but I guess the reality is that there was probably never a version of Starcraft shareware below v1.01 in the first place.

Download Zombie Wars Shareware Demo
MrFlibble wrote:Oh, and I also apologize for the fact that the Zombie Wars file I linked to above turned out to be only one half of the distribution package. The demo is pretty though to find, I'll keep looking for the rest of it.
Here's what seems to be ZWGAME1.ZIP and ZWGAME2.ZIP combined into one archive:
http://cd.textfiles.com/10tons/FILES/GA ... ZWGAME.ZIP [Added to the site]

I haven't tried it yet but there's a SETUP.EXE included that presumably installs the demo. Inside there's a LICENSE.TXT that says:

Wacky Wheels shareware version 1.0

http://www.mediafire.com/?2zoacxtqiqzqqgo

Haven't found it with an installer.

I'm not sure about differences, but I did notice the skyline for track 5 being different. Data is also stored in WACKY.LID and not .DAT

That's a leaked release, not an official one.

Litude, is it possible to confirm that the installers of Epic MegaGames' shareware titles that are found here are original? Somehow I've had the impression that Epic's stuff usually just came as plain files in a zip...

[Edit] Hmm, here's another version of Ken's Labyrinth with an installer, although it must be an earlier one judging by the dates.

Found version 2.1 shareware of this game. By the way, shouldn't the full version you're offering be version 2.1 as well as it's called 2.1 on Ken Silverman's website?
Shareware Version 2.1 - Installer (FILE_ID.DIZ has been added later to the archive, might want to remove it)
The installer I posted above is also shareware v2.1 (the installer says it comes from an "Epic Bonus Disk").

It also turns out that there's a shareware version without the installer that also identifies as v2.1 on the title screen, even though the documentation says it's v2.0.
Download: $KEN.ZIP

The files in this version, the installer in my previous post and the installer you have posted are identical, with KEN.EXE dated September 22, 1993. Unfortunately, this shareware v2.1 still has the same problem with SoundBlaster as v2.0.

Litude wrote:Thanks, had no idea Radix went up to version 2.0. Found the DOS distribution here, but the FILE_ID.DIZ has been modified. The original one can be gotten from the Windows installer.
The archive file name, at least, is original, as seen here:
() Radix: Into the Void

Creator / Distributor : Neural Storm / Epic
Initial Release : Nov 1995
Latest Version : v2.0
Appropriate Newsgroups: news:comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.action

FAQ : none known
Shareware : ftp://ftp.3dgamers.com/pub/3daction/rad ... adsw20.zip
There's also a patch that upgrades the shareware versions 1.0 and 1.1 to v2.0. The file name is radsw20p.zip, and it can be downloaded from GameFront among other places.

I've found a January 1997 MDK internet demo, sadly not in its original archive (repacked as a RAR). The only immediate difference I see is the orange gradient text is white this time.

I've also found a January 1997 Chasm demo (1.28) - this demo doesn't beep on startup.
