NASCAR Racing on the site, I guess a playable demo of its
sequel could be added as well:

Hi, I'm new here.
Before you get angry please excuse my (maybe?) bad school-english. - Im from Germany.^^

But now to my request: I searched the whole day now for an old DOS-Game which my family and me played very often on our Win98-PC.
It is named "Rocket Chase" (it took me hours to get this name):
A fast-paced shoot-em-up for two to four players. Fly through different levels in your small rocket and fight your enemies with several different weapons. The last man standing is the winner.

It is a really cool game and I just want to play it once again, so that I can die peacefully (hopefully not so early .. I'm just 16 ^^ ).
I could not find it anywhere to download or the links were dead or whatever. Maybe you have more luck or better relations or someone has it on an old disk.
I would be so happy, if somebody would find it and send me and I am sure that it would be a great enrichment for this community because it is maybe the best game I have ever played.

Wow, their file archive is still up? Does it still require registration to access? And if not, how can the archive be browsed properly?

Sadly their file archive isn't up anymore. (as far as I know) They just sometimes post demos in articles.
(but crawling their website for these links might be a nice idea *starting program*)

Just stumbled upon an apparently very obscure DOS first-person action/adventure game from 2000 made by a German programmer Florian Born that is called
Desperabis. According to the
game's home page (archived copy), the full game was released as freeware on December 17, 2000. I have not yet found any information regarding its distribution prior to that date (i.e. whether it was free or sold). Info on the game is rather scarce, but it does feature some decent graphics, judging by screenshots.

I've watched a
video of the promotional Nestlé game called
Tricky Quiky Games, and soon played a demo off a CD from
Hallfiry's collection. It has some nice graphics and fluid gameplay in the best traditions of the genre. Being a promotional game, the license suggests that it can be distributed freely for non-commercial purposes.
I have not yet found any original distributive of the game yet, but it is featured on
Reloaded.org and also can be downloaded
here.

The MobyGames cover says "Frei kopierbar", which roughly means "free to distribute".

A game has caught my attention that is called
Star Quest I in the 27th Century. It seems to be quite obscure, but from what information I found it appears to be a space/flight simulation game. Here's a description from the shareware distribution package:

I wonder if you'd be actually interested in hosting
King's Bounty 2, if only for historical interest reasons.
Sergei Prokofiev released his game as shareware, with only the first part freely distributable. The first part ends when the player finds all pieces of the map that must guide them to the main objective of the game, the Dark Castle, which is only available in the second, registered part of King's Bounty 2. I did some more research and it turns out that the second part was simply never made. Sergei Prokofiev was coding the game in his spare time, and initially did not plan to release it to the public at all. The first part was released for free, he never tried to make any profit from it, and the creators of original concept are acknowledged in both the game and its supplied documentation.
The real issue with this game though is that it is entirely in Russian

BTW, Prokofiev went later on to create a
Heroes of Might and Magic-inspired commercial game,
Heroes of Malgrimia (the original title was simply
Malgrimia, the
Heroes part was added by the publisher to ensure commercial success, as the
HoMM series has traditionally been very popular among Russian gamers).

Tyrian 2000 has a datacube that promotes another game, Pretzel Pete. I've only found a beta demo of it dating to February 1998, and Mobygames has no entry.
