Yeah, I totally agree. I'm curious if it's the same all over the World that many people throws away old stuff without realizing that they could become valueble later on, or if it's more common here in Sweden. Some people I've talked to even threw away old computers that became valueble later on, mostly Commodore I Think (it was rather popular here for a while, having around 20% of the market when it was most popular I think).

Wow. You totally hit it on the right thing. If I could I would have kept many if not all of the things I had. However that's not the way it is. The Commodore especially 64 is what I first learned how to program in. I believe back in the days there were even a Texas Instrument around 1980-something that I programmed in as a kid. I would have loved to have kept a few of the classic books I had that my parents bought for me especially Chess and Electronics and the likes. Those were the days. I could not believe as a kid I had read or at least skimmed thick books at the age of 9 years old at least! That's life I guess. Things change. If you could stand still in one time period that is your favourite it might end up getting boring. So like our decaying cells in our bodies.

We found out that the KKnD2 demo wasn't that exclusive after all since it's the same as the KKnD2: Krossfire Beta Demo dated 1998-02-20 available at Planet KKnD2. The reason why it was so large was that it was unpacked on the disc.

BTW, the same FTP site seems to have a slightly newer mirror of the gamesdomain FTP than gamers.org:
ftp://ftp.tpsa.pl/pub/games/shareware/

The contents of the FTP were/are mirrored at their HTML pages, and at least aprtially accessible via the Wayback Machine:

Here's a couple more file archives that have been (partially) preserved by the Wayback Machine:
http://web.archive.org/web/200107232356 ... les/games/
http://web.archive.org/web/200208300744 ... les/games/
(this is the same directory but the files that have been preserved seem to be a bit different between the two addresses)

It appears that this is a collection of shovelware CD contents, with the GAMES folder being identical to
this CD.

A seemingly obscure FTP with stuff that may be useful:
ftp://tardis.ursa.org/pub/BBS%20Archives/
Found it via
this FTP search engine.

While not very obvious, I was able to find a mirror of Blizzard's FTP at the Internet Archive among an assorted Collection of website grabs here:

Speaking of that, does anyone know a program that can open WARC files? I've been unable to succesfully do open such files.
