The Commander Keen source code has reportedly been located. It was sitting on a Syquest tape drive for the last 20 years or so. Tom Hall and company are going to see if the source code reads or not. If it does, he'll likely release it to the public.
I will attempt to keep you all up to date on this late-breaking story as it develops.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Commander Keen Source Code Located
The code that contains the source for Keens 4-6 was successfully retrieved from the disk, and it has now been sent to Tom Hall in a more modern storage medium. They're waiting for Id Software to release the source code to the public.

Catacomb and Catacomb3D code release.
The Keen source has been retrieved and it does compile; we're just waiting on id to officially release it. It should be any week now...

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Commander Keen Source Code Located
Softdisk did release the source code for Catacomb and Hovertank 3D under GPL yesterday. The source for Catacomb has been added to the site. Too bad there wasn't a shareware version of Hovertank 3D.
Edit: The source code for The Catacomb, Catacomb 3D, and Catacomb Abyss has now also been GPL'd.

I remember some lessons from Tom Hall when he released a developer notes to those who are working for him. hehelemm wrote:https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 424&type=1
