Tandy 320x200x16c has an official mode number, its Mode 09h. Mode 00h is equilavent to mode 01h, just as mode 02h is the equilavent of mode 03h.

I should probably add that the link to the links to the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs 3.0 License do not work on the following pages:

The licenses page however gives the correct link.

BTW, just noticed that the same happens to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 license links on individual game pages (e.g. here). The problem in all cases is that the wrong links have an extra "files/" part in them:

Those links are indeed dead. They will be resurrected with names that reflect their correct graphics modes, probably next week during my vacation. The issue is that ASCII is not a graphics standard, like MDA, CGA, EGA, VGA, 8514, etc. As I mentioned in your other thread, I'm going to take screenshots of each text-mode game using each standard in order to show how they look different with different numbers of pixels per character. The old ASCII pages will be replaced with the new [standard][mode] naming convention that's used for all of the other standards.

That depends on which Tandy you have. Mode 09h is 320x200x16c on a Tandy 1000 and 640x480xmono on a Tandy 2000. The difference between Mode 00h and 01h, and between 02h and 03h on a CGA, PCjr, EGA or Tandy is that Mode 00h and 02h were designed to display 16-color grayscale on monochrome monitors, whereas 01h and 03h were designed to display the 16 CGA colors on color monitors. Those screenshots have been dead for years because the site code assumes that a screenshot exists for any Win9x game that is marked as having a screenshot. The problem with that logic is that those games are marked as having a screenshot because they have a DOS screenshot, but I was unable to get a Win9x screenshot that I was happy with for either game when I added them to the site. I had planned to deal with that years ago but, you know...

I think you could make sure you designate it as a Tandy 1000 graphics mode. The Tandy 2000 was not a great PC compatible machine. Also, there is a Tandy 1000 Mode 08h for 160x200x16c graphics, there is a non-interactive demo for Maniac Mansion uses it.

Regarding text modes, the monochrome/color distinction between the 40-column Mode 00h and 01h and 80-column Mode 02h and 03h only has any meaning when you connect a CGA, PCjr. or Tandy 1000 to a composite video display. It is much harder to read 80-column text on a TV, and color only makes it worse. Early games sometimes offered the option of displaying in black and white to avoid color fringing on a TV set. With a CGA, EGA or VGA monitor, or an EGA or VGA card, there is no difference between the modes. There are differences between Mode 02/03 and Mode 07, even though they all use 80-columns.
